Amber, psychotherapist at Hand in Hand Therapy

A little about me

“You don’t need to suffer in silence.”

I work with children and teenagers aged 8–17 and adults aged 18 and over. My role is not to judge or tell you who to be, but to stay alongside you as we make sense of what is happening and what may help.

Our work is collaborative and paced around you. Some people want practical ways to cope now; others want to understand deeper patterns or experiences from the past. Both have a place in therapy.

  • Compassionate, confidential and non-judgemental
  • Short-term, long-term or open-ended work
  • Face-to-face and online sessions, plus telephone sessions for adults

Experience & approach

Experience informs the approach, while what matters to you shapes each session.

Amber has experience supporting people with a wide range of concerns and works with you to explore what feels important in each session, even if you are unsure where to begin.

Experience

Professional settings

Amber has worked within NHS Sutton Uplift, Talk Wandsworth and Relational Counselling, supporting people of different ages and circumstances.

Approach

Your pace

Sessions can explore what is most important that week, rather than following a rigid programme that does not respond to you. The pace can slow down, pause or move forward more quickly, depending on what feels right.

Development

Ongoing care

Amber keeps a limited client base and is committed to continuing professional training, reflection and responsible practice.

Finding the right fit

The first session belongs to both of us.

The first session gives us space to meet one another and begin exploring what has brought you to therapy. You can share as much or as little as feels comfortable, ask questions and get a sense of how I work.

It gives us both an opportunity to understand what you are looking for, what you might need from me and how we could work together. You do not need to have everything figured out; we can begin wherever feels most useful to you.

In my sessions with Amber, I truly feel heard and understood. She creates a safe and welcoming environment.
